Conversation: The Making of the Singapore Pavilion 2022
On 7 January 2023, 5pm, artist Shubigi Rao, curator Ute Meta Bauer, exhibition designer Laura Miotto, and Vice-President of ArtScience Museum and Attractions, Honor Harger, will discuss the making of the Singapore Pavilion at the Biennale Arte 2022 and the exhibition in Singapore.
Special Screening of Talking Leaves
On 5 January 2023, 8pm, join us for a special screening of Talking Leaves (2022) by Shubigi Rao. This special screening is part of Pulp III: A Short Biography of the Banished Book, commissioned for the Singapore Pavilion, 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.
In the spirit of Shubigi Rao’s project Pulp III: A Short Biography of the Banished Book for the Singapore Pavilion curated by Ute Meta Bauer, writers, librarians, printers and other members of the community featured in the artist’s film and book came together for an afternoon of public reading.
Commissioned by the National Arts Council, Singapore, and marking its 10th participation, the Singapore Pavilion at the 59th International Art Exhibition of the La Biennale di Venezia was officially opened on 21 April 2022.
Ahead of its opening in Venice, the Singapore Pavilion held a "behind-the-scenes" with artist Shubigi Rao, curator Ute Meta Bauer, exhibition designer Laura Miotto and design firm Studio SWELL.
